Adoption of the National Model Constitution
RESOLVED: (a) That the 5 members appointed to the working group consider the updates and revisions to the national model constitution and the plain language guide, before making proposals for their adoption. (b) That the working group report back to this Committee in January with the intention of approving the changes at a Council meeting in early 2023. (c) That the date of this Committee in January be brought forward to enable it to consider the working group’s recommendations ahead of the Council meeting on 24 January 2023.

Adoption of the Model Ordinary Language Guide to the Constitution and updates made to the National Model Constitution.
RESOLVED: (a) That the Committee recommends to Council that the draft amended Constitution should be adopted subject to a further internal consistency check and proof-read; (b) That the role descriptions in the draft Model Constitution should be the subject to consultation with relevant Members before the Constitution is adopted at the Annual General Meeting; and (c) That the ordinary language guide be adopted subject to a final document and cross reference comparison with the draft Constitution to ensure accuracy and consistency between those documents.

Adoption of the Model Ordinary Language Guide to the Constitution and updates made to the National Model Constitution.
RESOLVED: (a) That the role descriptions in the draft Model Constitution should be subject to consultation with relevant Members, before the updated constitution is adopted at the Annual General Meeting; and (b) That the ordinary language guide be approved for adoption at the Annual Meeting, subject to a final document and cross reference comparison with the draft constitution to ensure accuracy and consistency between those documents.

Adoption of updates made to the National Model Constitution
RESOLVED: (a) That the updated model constitution be adopted, with the exception of the role descriptions contained in Section 31 of the draft consultation and subject to a final internal consistency check, proof-read and cross reference with the ordinary language guide; (b) That the Council considers a further report on the role descriptions contained within section 31 of the amended model after consultation has taken place with all Councillors on their wording; and (c) That authority be delegated to the Chief Officer (Governance), in consultation with the chair of the Constitution and Dem…
