AGREED to note that the proposed fees consulted on for 2022/23 would come into effect from the 1 April 2022 following full consultation and that no representations to the proposed fees were received.
AGREED to incorporate the proposed changes to sections 2 and 3 of the Council’s Policy on the Administration and Regulation of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licences that are set out in Appendix 1 of the report with immediate effect.
1.1 The Chair welcomed Members and Officers to the meeting of the General Licensing Committee. 1.2 Apologies were received from Councillors Glyn Caron, Norma Parrish and Chris Tew.
2.1 Councillor Steven Evans declared a personal, non-prejudicial interest in agenda items 4 and 6 as his brother was the owner of Village and Valleys Travel. 2.2 No other interests were declared.
3.1 The minutes were confirmed as a true and accurate record.

5.1 The TML&TS briefly read through her report whilst sharing her screen. 5.2 The TML&TS responded to a Members’ question by saying that the proposed fees did not require consultation with the trade and that the fees over the previous year had not been challenged. 5.3 There were no other questions or comments. 5.4 The Committee APPROVED the proposed licencing fees.

6.1 The SLO briefly read through his report whilst sharing his screen. He also shared a presentation from HMRC that showed the process drivers and operators would experience whilst performing their online checks through the gov.uk website. 6.2 The Committee had no questions or comments. 6.3 The Committee AGREED to incorporate the proposed changes to sections 2 and 3 of the Council’s Policy on the Administration and Regulation of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licences that are set out in Appendix 1 of the report with immediate effect.
7.1 The next meeting was confirmed to take place in the new municipal year at a date to be confirmed. 7.2 The meeting ended at 10.24am.
