RESOLVED – (i) That the proposals for the development of a cultural strategy in preparation for a stronger application to bid for the UK City of Culture 2029 be supported. (ii) That the development of cultural events programme in 2023, 2025 and 2027, in preparation of the delivery of UK City of Culture in 2029, if the bid is successful, be supported. (iii) That the interim posts of Chair of the Board and Lead Executive Officer to develop a cultural strategy be approved and that they lead on the establishment of a Cultural and Community Trust. Update on progress of UK City of Culture 2029
AGREED – i) That a further update report be considered on the development of the City of Culture Trust and its accountability structure. ii) That this report also include:- a) Benchmark data provided by Glyndwr University. b) Timeframes for the Capital of Play and Culture. c) Details of the public consultation exercise for taking this process forward. iii) That the committee receive an information report regarding Community Grants. iv) To welcome the formation of the City of Culture Trust. v) That it is recognised that there will be Council representation on the Board, but it is reques…
