Education Estate - Capital Investment
AGREED – (i) That the Committee thank the Lead Member and Officers for the report and acknowledge the progress made in delivering the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme. (ii) That the next annual update be scheduled for 12 months’ time and include a more detailed breakdown of the funding and expenditure for Band B projects including local authority match funding. (iii) That a report on the draft proposed Sustainable Communities Rolling Programme after Band B be scheduled for the meeting in December 2023.

AGREED – (i) That Officers be thanked for the report. (ii) That the Committee supports the proposed scoring methodology and weightings to be used to prioritise schools for Band C Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme outlined in Appendices 1a and 1b. (iii) That a progress report on the Welsh in Education Strategic Plan be submitted to the meeting on 24 April 2024.

AGREED – (i) That the feasibility study into the development of the Groves as an ‘anchor’ site for a new Contemporary Art Gallery be circulated to Members of the Committee. (ii) To recommend to the Executive Board – · That any new funding from the flexible revenue support grant be directed towards schools. · That the capital receipt from any disposals of school assets be ringfenced to support the 21st Century Schools Programme (now Sustainable Communities for Learning).
