The proposed works relate to the row of Cupressus macrocarpa growing on the edge of the terrace west of our dwelling. The relevant trees are listed below as T1 T7, with T1 being the tree growing closest to the boundary wall with the external highway beyond. T1 Circa 15m height. Approximately 30% crown reduction required so that overall reduction in the trees height will not exceed 3m. Truncate lateral limbs throughout the crown by a maximum of 3m. Prune downwards growing / pendulous limbs overhanging archway. Reduce the length of the lowest attached approximately westerly oriented primary limb by no more than 2m. Remove 3x lowest attached north & north-easterly oriented primary limbs (one of these has been heavily truncated historically). T2 Circa 18m height. Overall height reduction not to exceed 5.5m. Truncation of lateral limbs should not exceed 3m. T3 Circa 19m height. The height of this tree to be reduced by not more than 4m, with the length of material removed from lateral limbs not to exceed 1.5m. T4 Circa 18m height. We would like to apply to fell this tree, in order to favour those specimens being retained. T5 No work proposed as tree has historically been supressed by its neighbours. T6 Circa 15m height. We would like to apply to fell this tree, in order to favour those specimens being retained. T7 Circa 17m height. Reduce height by up to 5m. Truncate lateral limbs by up to 3m. Prune pendulous secondary limbs at hang down approximately vertical from primary scaffold limbs in the lower crown.
