The Regional Transport Planning Sub-Committee met on 8 July 2026 to review spending, Year 2 planning for the Regional Transport Fund, and a communications plan. Members noted Quarter 1 progress and approved the 2026/27 budget, and they agreed a communications plan from July 2026. They also moved the October and January meetings so they line up with the quarterly reports.
Members noted confirmation of £13.1 million of Year 1 regional transport funding and agreed that officers should start drafting a Year 2 programme. They also discussed planning for the Tour de France in Powys in July 2027, the T-Network, and communications, and agreed to meet quarterly.
The Mid Wales Corporate Joint Committee (CJC) Regional Transport Planning Sub-Committee agreed to endorse the Mid Wales Regional Transport Delivery Plan and the Year 1 Regional Transport Fund (RTF) programme for 2026/27. Officers were given delegated power to make only the extra detail Welsh Government asked for, so the programme can be submitted by 30 January 2026. The meeting also discussed a Tour de France stage coming to Welshpool in 2027.
