Initial revenue budget estimates for 2025/26
The committee recommended that all members be told of the Welsh Government provisional settlement announcement on 11 December 2024. It also recommended that members be kept informed of any negative changes to grant funding and of the possible National Insurance increases, including their likely effects on council services and contracted third-party services. The Chairs of Scrutiny will work with the Scrutiny Support Team on how more detailed financial information can be presented to committees, and on feeding service plans with a significant budget impact into work programmes.

Initial revenue estimates and budget gap for 2025/26
Cabinet agreed to note the updated 2024/25 forecast, the initial 2025/26 estimates and the proposed actions to close the budget gap. It also agreed to note the timetable for the rest of the 2025/26 budget process.
