Appointments Committee - Assistant Director Planning and Transportation

Cyfarfododd Pwyllgor Penodiadau Cyngor Caerdydd ar 28 Ebrill 2026 i gyfweld ymgeiswyr ar gyfer swydd Cyfarwyddwr Cynorthwyol Cynllunio a Thrafnidiaeth. Penododd y pwyllgor Andrew Gregory i'r swydd.    Penododd y pwyllgor Andrew Gregory i swydd Cyfarwyddwr Cynorthwyol Cynllunio a Thrafnidiaeth. Mae'r cofnod yn nodi bod y broses wedi dilyn y drefn benodi, bod pob ymgeisydd wedi'i drin yn gyfartal ac yn deg, a bod y penodiad wedi'i wneud ar sail teilyngdod.

   To discharge the functions of the authority in respect of the appointment and dismissal of Chief Officers and Deputy Chief Officers (as defined in the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) (Wales) Regulations 2006) and the statutory Head of Democratic Services, in accordance with the Employment Procedure Rules and any other relevant Council policies and procedures.

   Appointment of Assistant Director - Planning and Transportation

   RESOLVED – That 1. Andrew Gregory be appointed to Assistant Director Planning and Transportation. 2. The selection process had been conducted in accordance with the appointments process and each candidate had been treated equally and fairly. The successful candidate was appointed on merit.

   The Appointments Committee for the post of Assistant Director Planning and Transportation As part of the interview process the candidates made a 10 minute presentation and Members were given an opportunity to probe and question the content of the presentation. This was followed by formally agreed set questions. At the end of the interview process the Committee deliberated on the performance of each candidate against the competencies and model responses. The Committee agreed that they were able to appoint to the post of Assistant Director Planning and Transportation. RESOLVED – That 1. Andrew Gregory be appointed to Assistant Director Planning and Transportation. 2. The selection process had been conducted in accordance with the appointments process and each candidate had been treated equally and fairly. The successful candidate was appointed on merit.
