The committee fully supports the council's talks with the UK Government on more funding for, or continuing, the Homes for Ukraine scheme, and will monitor the risk of refugees becoming homeless as part of its work programme. It asked officers to improve communication with residents about the budget and reserves when issuing a press release on the budget consultation, and asked the Budget Research and Evaluation Panel (BREP) to consider how the Social Services and Wellbeing budget reflects local demand, demographics and statutory duties. It also asked for more detail on the 56.2% overspend in Planning and Development, which the committee noted is an understaffed department, and for a written response from the Corporate Director for Social Services and Wellbeing on agency workers.

Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
