Social Services, Health and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Formerly Subject Overview & Scrutiny Committee 2). Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
CIW improvement check of children's social care
The committee made two recommendations. It recommended that the budget setting process start at an earlier stage to allow cross-party input to help Cabinet with the Medium Term Financial Strategy. It also recommended that advice be issued to all directorates to standardise the BRAG (blue, red, amber, green) status used in reports and action plans. The committee requested: the number of contacts behind the 32% rise in contacts and referrals from April to August 2022; a copy of the Exploitation Screening Tool trialled in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, the presentation given to headteachers on exploitation, and any update from the Cwm Taf Task and Finish Group on best practice; and a summary of the recommendations and short-term steps taken after the rapid review of supervised contact.
Cabinet. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.

Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
