UK Shared Prosperity Fund: lead authority and regional funding agreement
It delegated authority to the Corporate Director Communities to send Bridgend's local investment plan information to that council, and to negotiate and sign a regional funding agreement with it. It also agreed that the Economic Partnership should be involved in overseeing the fund in Bridgend.

UK Shared Prosperity Fund
The Committee expressed strong concern about the poor return Bridgend received from the fund and the fairness of the funding formula, and agreed to write to the UK Government officials responsible for the fund. The letter will raise that Bridgend is one of the fastest growing areas in Wales and that the short time to prepare proposals and spend the money is unreasonable. The Committee also expressed concern about the risks of insufficient funding and of meeting the timescales. It expressed concern about the lack of staff and expertise in the Communities Directorate, and recommended that resources be prioritised there, that potential projects be drafted in advance, and that transferring staff from other work should not be used. The letter is to be copied to the two local MPs, Dr Jamie Wallis and Chris Elmore. The Committee requested a copy of any presentation to the Town and Community Council Forum, more detail on how Rhondda Cynon Taff, as lead authority, will process claims and handle reporting and accountability, fuller project details with funding breakdowns, and clarification on whether money would have to be repaid if outputs were not achieved.

UK Shared Prosperity Fund: grant schemes and funding risk
The Committee recommended that Cabinet consider whether starting projects before funding is confirmed is a justified risk, and explain how future decisions will deal with that risk. It also recommended that short-term interim funding, possibly from reserves (savings held for later use), be explored for projects with a high degree of certainty, and it asked to be told as soon as possible whether the request to roll year 1 funding into year 2 had been granted.

RESOLVED: It was recommended that the Town and Community Council Forum noted the report.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
