Appointment of committees and their chairs
Council appointed the Overview and Scrutiny Committees and other committees, and set their sizes and terms of reference. It approved changes to the Constitution to reflect the new committee membership. It noted that replacement Registered Representatives will be recruited later. The Governance and Audit Committee will choose its own Chair and Deputy Chair at its first meeting.

Appointments to committees and chairpersons
Council appointed the Overview and Scrutiny Committees and other committees, set their sizes and terms of reference, and shared out seats in line with the size of each political group. Where votes were contested, it elected chairpersons by vote: Councillor H Bennett for the Appeals Panel (29 votes to 18), and Councillor RM Granville for the Development Control Committee (29 votes to 21). Other chairs and vice-chairs were elected unopposed, including Councillor HJ David for the Appointments Committee and the Town and Community Council Forum, and Councillor M Lewis for the Licensing Committee.
