Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order
Resolved that: 1. A statutory and public consultation be undertaken on the proposal to introduce a County Borough Wide PSPO to reduce dog waste nuisance in the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil, be approved.

Dog fouling Public Spaces Protection Order
The council approved a Public Spaces Protection Order, a local rule for public places, covering all public spaces in the county borough. It will start on 1 September 2025 and last three years, and anyone who breaks it can be given a fixed penalty notice (an on-the-spot fine) of £100. Officers can carry out the publicity the law requires, using powers delegated to them.
