Bulky waste collection charges for 2026/27
The Committee held an indicative vote, which is a non-binding show of hands. The majority preferred option two, which charges by the number of items in a collection. Some Members preferred cutting the higher charge from £48 to £39.50. The Committee agreed that any recommendation should allow implementation from 1 October 2026, or as soon as practicable after. The Committee's preferred option and the alternative proposals discussed will be reported to Cabinet. The Chair asked for more detail on digital requirements and costs to be sent to Members outside the meeting. A proposal to cut the flat rate to £35 was withdrawn.
