The Standards Committee met on 18 August 2026. It approved the Annual Standards Committee Report, which will go to Full Council in November 2026. The meeting also covered training after a hearing in April, complaints sent to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, and feedback from the National Standards Committee Forum. The Chair said it was his last meeting as Chair and member.

The Committee found that she breached three paragraphs of the Code of Conduct, the rules councillors must follow, and decided to censure her, a formal written criticism, on condition that she undertakes further training. The Committee also asked for a report on that training at its next meeting.
The Committee noted all three reports. It supported promoting and improving signposting to the wellbeing resources available to councillors.
