Newport City Council Library Strategy 2026-2029
The Committee recommended that a Fairness and Equalities Impact Assessment (FEIA), a check of how the Strategy affects different groups, be completed and sent with the Strategy before it goes to Cabinet. It also recommended that the Council ensures the library service has enough funding to meet its statutory obligations, so that quality standards and accessibility targets can be met and kept. The Committee also asked for information on how far residents live from their nearest library, on average.

Cabinet adopted the Newport Library Strategy 2026-29 and agreed that it should go to publication.
