Governance and Audit Committee
Training on violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence for councillors
The Committee recommended that the VAWDASV and safeguarding training be classed as essential for councillors. It recommended that the Council consider what action, if any, to take against councillors who have not attended the safeguarding or VAWDASV training. It recommended that the Council refer how future training in these areas should be handled to the Democratic Services Committee and the Standards Committee. It recommended that a safeguarding and VAWDASV training package be included in the induction for members elected in 2027. It also recommended that the report's contents be noted.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
