Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order: renewal
The Committee was reassured that the consultation was thorough and included key stakeholders. Members offered to help promote information about the order in their community groups. The Committee recommended that the Council considers and approves the renewal of the order at Full Council. It requested accessible signage, with pictorial symbols and clear visual aids for people who do not use mobile phones, have a language barrier or have visual or learning disabilities. It requested that public education campaigns be renewed and expanded, with schools, community groups and local veterinary practices. It recommended that the meaning of "close control" be described clearly and shown on signs at cemetery entrances. It requested that care leavers be added as a protected characteristic (a group covered by equality law) in the report, as it was missing. It noted a typo: "owners" should read "ownership" in the purpose statement.

Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
