Fostering Service update
The Committee asked for data on educational achievement for children in foster care, and for information on any community-specific cultural challenges to fostering and how councillors can help tackle them. It suggested officers work with ward members to promote fostering at community events. It recommended training for school governors on fostering and adoption, and on how they can support children in care more effectively.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
