HISTORICALLY, PROP MORE THAN 30 YEARS AGO THIS TREE WAS POLLARDED, THE TREE IS VERY OLD AND AT THE FIRST FORK THERE ARE 3 MAIN STEMS, ALL WITH SLIGHTLY WORRYING INCLUSIONS AND SIGNS OF RECENT AND HISTORIC CRACKING. JUST BELOW THIS ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE THERE IS A POORLY INCLUDED WOUND WITH GANODERMA SP. FRUITING BODIES PRESENT, THESE WERE NOT THERE 5 YEARS AGO, OVER ALL THE TREE HAS GOOD VIGOUR AND VITALITY. THE TREE IS OVERHANGING THE HOUSE, POWER CABLES TO THE HOUSE AND A PUBLIC FOOTPATH, THE RISK IS TOO HIGH, BUT I BELIEVE THE TREE CAN BE SAVED AND PUT INTO A CYCLE OF MAINTENANCE,POLLARDING EVERY 3-5 YEARS, WITH MAIN STEM SUCKER REMOVAL EVERY YEAR UP TO 2-3M ABOVE GROUND TO REMOVE ANY NUISANCE. WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT EARLY SUMMER,MID JUNE 2022.
