Consultation on Welsh-medium school and changes at Builth Wells schools
Cabinet received the consultation report and approved publishing a statutory notice, the formal public step needed before a school can change, on a two-phase plan. Phase 1, from September 2027, would open a Welsh-medium all-age school (4 to 18) on the current Builth campus of Ysgol Calon Cymru, sharing the site at first, and change both Ysgol Calon Cymru and Builth Wells C.P. School to English-medium. Phase 2, from September 2029 at the earliest, would move Ysgol Calon Cymru's Builth pupils to Llandrindod Wells after capital investment there, and the Welsh-medium school would take over the whole Builth campus.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
