The Council's 2026/27 revenue budget
Cabinet noted the budget procedures in the Constitution and the outcomes of phase 1 of the consultation. It agreed to review the draft 2026/27 revenue budget strategy and timetable, and to consider the Council Tax rise to build into it for phase 2 consultation. It agreed to receive feedback from phase 2 before setting the final budget strategy for Council, and to keep backing the medium term financial strategy.

The Council's 2026-27 revenue budget
Cabinet resolved to review the draft budget strategy and amend it if appropriate before recommending it to Council on 4 March 2026. Members agreed to support the Cabinet Members' proposals on town centre car parking fees and charges. The minute records no amendments.

Council agreed the Cabinet's budget strategy for 2026/27. Council noted the process for the debate, and no alternative budget was tabled.
