Quarter 1 revenue and capital budget monitoring 2026/27
Cabinet noted the variations and the severe spending restrictions now in place, and approved the virements and use of the contingency fund, subject to further advice from the Section 151 Officer (the council's chief finance officer). It reinforced the need for directors to keep service spending down. It noted the indicative position, which depends on the final pay award, and approved reprofiling of capital budgets and grant-funded budgets in Appendix E. It delegated power to the Section 151 Officer to decide deviations from spending restrictions.
