Planning Committee
Outline plans for up to 216 homes at Fairwood Terrace, Gowerton
The committee refused the application for this reason: the development would increase vehicle movements and traffic congestion on local roads, leading to longer periods of queueing traffic outside homes, to the detriment of residents' amenity, contrary to Policy PS2 (placemaking and place management) of the Swansea Local Development Plan (2019).
Planning Committee

The committee asked for a hearing as the council's preferred way of dealing with the appeal. It nominated Councillors D H Jenkins and S M Jones, the local members, to defend the appeal.
Planning Committee
Ward members released from defending Fairwood Terrace, Gowerton appeal
The committee resolved that the Gowerton ward members are not required to defend the appeal. It also nominated Councillor P M Black to work with officers, or a nominated officer not linked to the earlier decision, to take the action forward.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
