Swansea Bay City Deal governance moves to South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee
Council noted Cabinet's decisions of 11 December 2025 to disband the City Deal Joint Committee, delegate its decision making to the South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee, and fold the Economic Strategy Board into a new Private Sector Advisory Board. It approved removing the City Deal Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee and giving its scrutiny role to the South West Wales joint scrutiny committee. It agreed that Councillors Mair Baker, Chris Holley and Dai Jenkins represent Swansea on that committee. It delegated power to the Chief Legal Officer, in consultation with the Chief Executive and the Leader, to amend the Joint Committee Agreement, subject to the other three councils agreeing. It noted that the City Deal Joint Committee must ratify these decisions.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
