Council Tax Reduction Scheme for 2024/25
Council unanimously agreed to adopt the Welsh Government's Prescribed Requirements Regulations, with the amendment regulations, for its scheme in 2024/25. It also approved the discretionary elements as the Council's local scheme from 1 April 2024, and agreed that any mid-year uprating changes (updates to amounts) can be made without adopting the whole scheme again.

Council Tax Reduction Scheme 2025/26
Council unanimously agreed to adopt the Council Tax Reduction Scheme for 2025/26, a scheme that reduces council tax bills for households that qualify based on their means. It approved the discretionary elements of the scheme as Torfaen's local scheme from 1 April 2025. It also agreed that changes made during the year to update amounts can be made without adopting the whole scheme again.
