They covered a consultation on additional licensing of houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) in Plasnewydd, changes to the social housing allocation policy and a new Gypsy Traveller allocation scheme, and the council's response to a committee inquiry on older people from ethnic minority communities using adult social care. The committee agreed that the Chair will write to the Cabinet Member with its observations on all three.
The Planning Committee met on 8 October 2026 and granted three planning applications. The applications cover a change of use from nursery to a house in multiple occupation in Pentwyn, a discount foodstore in Old St Mellons and a rear extension in Heath. The Committee decided them under its delegated powers, in line with officers' recommendations.
The Policy Review and Performance Scrutiny Committee met on 7 October 2026 to consider three items: corporate performance and benchmarking, the Oracle Fusion programme, and the month 4 budget for 2026/27. On each item the committee agreed that the Chairperson would write to the Cabinet Member for Finance, Modernisation & Performance, Councillor Leo Thomson, setting out the committee's observations and recommendations.
