The Council approved the allocation of seats on committees for 2022/23 and appointed members to each committee in line with nominations from the party groups. It authorised the Monitoring Officer to fill any remaining vacancies and to report all committee appointments to the next Council meeting.

Allocation of committee seats and appointment of members
The Council approved the allocation of committee seats under the political balance rules, which share seats between groups in line with their size. It appointed members to committees as nominated by party groups and listed on the amendment sheet. It asked the Monitoring Officer to fill any remaining vacancies and report back to the next meeting. It also approved the recommendation of the Governance and Audit Committee to appoint Mr Chris Burns as an Independent Member of that committee for an initial five-year term, with the option of one further five-year term.
