Corporate Joint Committee update and scrutiny arrangements
The committee agreed that the Chairperson, on its behalf, will write to the Cabinet Member with the committee's observations and recommendations on the way forward.
Cabinet. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.
Corporate Joint Committee and the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal
Cabinet noted the update and that Cardiff Council will stop being the accountable body from 1 April 2024. The accountable body is the council that holds the money and legal responsibility. Cabinet delegated authority to the Chief Executive, with the Section 151 Officer and Monitoring Officer, to deal with remaining financial and legal issues from the transition and to authorise legal services to sign the documents needed. Cabinet noted that the City Deal agreements will move to the new committee. It noted that a future report will come to Cabinet and then full Council on ending the Joint Working Agreement and any new arrangements.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
