Pay Policy 2023/24
The Cabinet agreed to remove SCP1 from the Council's Single Status pay and grading structure, and to introduce spot point grades for Grade 1 (SCP2) and Grade 2 (SCP3). It noted the increase in annual leave agreed nationally for local government employees, and agreed extra leave for other Council employees under local agreement. It agreed to recommend that Council confirm that agreeing the Pay Policy Statement covers the cost of living pay increases from 1 April 2023, which are already in the budget agreed on 9 March 2023. It also agreed to recommend that any extra costs from later national pay deals that the Revenue Budget cannot meet be referred to Council, and that Council approve the Pay Policy Statement 2023/24 in Appendix 1.

Pay Policy Statement 2023-2024
Council approved the Pay Policy Statement for 2023/24 (Appendix 1). It agreed that approving the statement also agrees the cost-of-living pay rises from 1 April 2023, as set out in the budget agreed on 9 March 2023. It agreed that any extra costs from later national pay deals that the revenue budget cannot meet will go back to Council. A reference back proposed by Councillor Joel Williams and seconded by Councillor Robson was lost.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
