Policy Review and Performance Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Senior management arrangements
The committee agreed that the Chairperson, on behalf of the committee, will write to the Cabinet Member with the committee's observations and recommendations when the Cabinet discusses the way forward.
Cabinet. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.
Senior management arrangements
Cabinet provisionally approved the remodelling of the Senior Management Team, subject to consultation. It approved a consultation period starting straight after the meeting. A further report will come to Cabinet in September 2025 to confirm the final model. Cabinet delegated authority to the Chief Executive, with the Leader and other Cabinet Members, to move managers and support staff to the new structure. Cabinet noted the Single Impact Assessment of the proposals.
Council. Full Council sets the budget and council tax and approves major plans.
Senior Management Arrangements
Council approved the creation and public advertisement of two new director posts: Director, Frontline Services, and Director, Strategy, Partnerships and Transformation. It also approved advertising the existing post of Director, Children's Services. It noted that the Appointments Committee will appoint to the director posts. The vote was 54 for, 12 against and no abstentions.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
