Motion: bus services and franchising
The Council agreed the motion as amended by the Labour group, by 44 votes to 2, with 19 abstentions. It recognises that the council's transport strategy takes account of the points raised and that its Bus Priority Plan for Cardiff seeks to meet the need for more bus services. It calls on the Cabinet to write to the Welsh Government urging it to speed up the planned switch to a franchised bus model in south east Wales. It also calls on the Cabinet to ensure municipal bus companies are offered some security when bidding for franchised contracts.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
