Winter service: gritting routes and budget cuts
The committee agreed to recommend that Cabinet approve a revised assessment matrix, which scores each route for pre-treatment with salt, to align it with the new Code of Practice for Highway Safety Inspection. The threshold score for pre-treating routes is set at +1. The minute records two operational decisions made without a vote: dropping route C1001C, and lowering the forecast trigger for pre-treatment to +0.5°C.
