Amendments to the Council's Constitution
Council approved the changes to the Constitution (Appendices 1 to 8). It authorised the Monitoring Officer to update the Constitution to reflect them. It approved the interim appointment of the WLGA Policy Officer, a former Trading Standards and Licensing Manager, as Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures until the post is filled. It also authorised the Corporate Lead Officer for Economy and Regeneration to act as an Authorising Officer, the person who approves certain covert surveillance, under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
