Changes to discretionary home to school transport
The committee recommended that Cabinet approve the eight changes set out in the report and amend the policy to match. Two areas would stay as they are: transport to Welsh-medium schools over the statutory distance, and transport for Gypsy Roma Traveller children within it. The other changes would remove transport for pupils who move house in exam years, require evidence of faith for faith school transport, restrict transport for pupils with two homes to within Conwy, limit post-16 transport to the nearest suitable place, and review ALN, medical and other transport under the existing policy.

Changes to the discretionary Home to School Transport Policy
Cabinet approved changes to eight areas of discretionary transport, which the council may choose to provide beyond its legal duties. It approved removing transport for pupils who move house in exam years and restricting transport to two addresses to addresses within Conwy. It also approved asking for evidence of faith for transport to denominational schools, sending post 16 pupils to their nearest establishment, and reviewing ALN, medical and other-reason transport under the existing policy, while keeping Welsh medium and Gypsy Roma Traveller transport.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
