Adoption of an updated constitution
The Council adopted the updated constitution, except the role descriptions for the Chair of the Standards Committee, Member of the Standards Committee and Group Leader, which will return to Council after consultation. It agreed that the ordinary language guide to the constitution be amended and adopted after checks against the new text. It delegated authority to the Head of Law and Governance, in consultation with the Chair of the Democratic Services Committee, to make changes arising from proof-reading and consistency checks.
