Mike Corcoran (Co-Production Network for Wales) gave an update on the Forward Work Plan and structure. A continuation of 4 meetings per year was suggested, with a focus on certain key pilot projects, and revisiting these in subsequent meetings to ensure meaningful progress. Informal meetings would continue to focus on engagement and communication. The following points were discussed – • Concerns were raised regarding officer workload and duplication of work in terms of additional subgroups being established. • Concerns that the subgroups would become officers driving change rather than members of the Conwy and Denbighshire Public Services Board (PSB). The need for a risk register workshop in the forthcoming year in order to identify and prioritise areas of focus. • It was noted that there were outstanding PSB grant monies that were required to be used before the end of the financial year. As a way forward, it was suggested that a focus on a tight set of topics and avoiding duplication was the best way of utilising limited officer time and resources. RESOLVED – That the broad structure proposed be approved, but with an emphasis on avoiding duplicating work and being mindful of officer and resource capacity.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
