RESOLVED: That the Conwy Harbour Advisory Committee remains as a multi-location meeting in the Council Chamber, Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, to include livestreaming.
Due to the closure of the Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) offices in Bodlondeb, Conwy on 9 May, 2025 with all meeting facilities moving to Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, consideration had been given to the future venue and format of Conwy Harbour Advisory Committee (CHAC) meetings going forward. The Head of Democratic Services presented options available in terms of possible venues and format, for example, in person or multi locational and welcomed any other suggestions from Members, with a caveat that should an alternative venue be preferred, if it incurred additional costs, there was no budget available. Whilst some disappointment was expressed that meetings could no longer be held within the vicinity of Conwy town, Members acknowledged that no alternative venue could be identified, which met the requirements of the Committee in terms of room hire charges, meeting time and accessibility (to include live streaming). RESOLVED: That the Conwy Harbour Advisory Committee remains as a multi-location meeting in the Council Chamber, Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, to include livestreaming.

RESOLVED: That the update on Conwy Harbour operations be noted.
The Harbour Master presented a report on the developments and operations of Conwy Harbour and highlighted key points from the report. In considering the report, Members made reference to the following: • Whilst the principle of advertising was supported, the number of advertising boards on the Quay seemed a little excessive. - The Harbour Master advised that, some of the advertising boards had been there for many years, but he would speak to operators and clarify the position with colleagues in Development and Building Control. • Members were advised that the revised Ports and Marine Facilities Safety Code (PMSC) included marine facilities, therefore, further discussion would be necessary with the two marinas to discuss a bridging exercise. Thanks was extended to the Conwy Harbour team for their continued hard work and best wishes conveyed to the Facilities Manager on his forthcoming retirement. RESOLVED: That the update on Conwy Harbour operations be noted.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
