RESOLVED: That the update report of Conwy Harbour operations be noted.
The Harbour Master presented a report on the developments and operations of Conwy Harbour and highlighted key points from within the report. In considering the report, Members made reference to the following: · In relation to personal watercrafts/jet ski riders and recent complaints from across the County regarding reckless behaviour and noise disturbance, it was acknowledged that, regrettably, many harbour ports across the country experienced similar issues. Members of the public were encouraged to send any footage captured of reckless behaviour to the Harbour Office, where it would be reviewed and should the evidence meet the threshold, consideration be given to possible prosecution. Raising awareness and highlighting options available to local residents, via means of social media and other such platforms, was suggested. • Launch points and enforcement/CCTV options discussed, together with a suggestion to review the speed limit for such crafts (from 10 knots to 5 knots). In respect of CCTV, solar powered cameras had been trialled, and the Harbour Master was happy to share the findings in terms of capabilities. • Members praised the Harbour Office for offering work placements (mentoring and training) to young people and praised those students, who had progressed within their chosen careers. • A summary of the recent audit on Safety Management Systems (SMS), as required by the Ports and Marine Facilities Safety Code, was requested for information. RESOLVED: That the update report of Conwy Harbour operations be noted.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
