Budget update and Medium Term Financial Strategy 2026/27 to 2028/29
Cabinet approved the updates listed in section 2.1 of the report. These cover the final 2024/25 savings tracker, outstanding matters for the 2025/26 budget, the proposed budget strategy for 2026/27, high-level budget projections to 2028/29 and a self-assessment of the council's financial resilience.

Cabinet approved the Medium Term Financial Strategy and Medium Term Financial Plan, and noted the ongoing work to set a balanced budget for 2026/27.
Performance Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Medium Term Financial Strategy and budget gap for 2026/27 to 2028/29
The Committee noted why the report was on the agenda for information. It also noted that queries could be raised through other routes, such as with officers outside the meeting.

MEDIUM TERM FINANCIAL STRATEGY AND PLAN 2026/27-2028/29
RESOLVED, that the Governance and Audit committee receive the Medium-Term Financial Strategy and Plan and recommend on presentation and contents for future representations. In addition, the Committee recommend that representations were made to National Government through the Authorities representative bodies in respect of the funding position in Wales for local authorities.
