Proposed closure of public toilets: notice of motion
The meeting first rejected a closure motion, which would have ended debate, after a recorded vote. It then agreed the substantive alternative motion, which resolved to reinstate the 2025 public convenience budget pending a full public consultation covering all protected characteristic groups (groups protected by equality law), with a full report to the Environment & Economy Overview & Scrutiny Committee. It also resolved to set up an engagement plan on the Welsh Government 'Toilet' sticker, to ensure no public convenience is closed or restricted before Cabinet has voted on the scrutiny report, and to consider the delivery model alongside townscape, regeneration, tourism and available grants.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
