Social & Health Care Overview & Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Removing profit from care of looked after children
The Committee noted the council's strategy to develop or acquire up to two properties a year for children's homes until 2030. It recommended that Cabinet give the Chief Officer (Social Services) delegated authority, meaning power to act without a full council vote, to make offers on up to two properties a year, up to £1 million in total, and to recruit up to 12 full-time equivalent staff for each new home. It also acknowledged the progress made to prepare for the removal of profit from children's care.

Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
