Cabinet received the update on the budget position for 2026/27 before it goes to the Overview and Scrutiny Committees. It noted the work under way to find budget solutions and agreed the approach to the serious and major budget challenge.

That the financial implications of the Welsh Local Government Provisional Settlement, and the work still to be done before recommendations go to Council to set a legal and balanced budget on 17 February, be noted.
