Education and Economy Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Draft Schools Strategy 2026-2036
The committee welcomed the strategy and accepted the report, noting the comments made. It recommended to the Cabinet Member for Education that more detail be added on safeguarding, poverty, social equity, faith schools, parents' voice, inclusion, the Welsh language, staff well-being and governance. It asked the Education Department to make sure safeguarding was built into its planning, and to give full consideration to new Welsh Government recommendations on governance. It also asked for information on the Schools Support Service to be sent to members.
The Cabinet. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.
Gwynedd Schools Strategy 2026-2036
The Cabinet approved the Strategy. It gave the Cabinet Member for Education, with the Head of Education, power to make minor editorial changes before publication, provided these do not change the content, direction, priorities or finances.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
