Education and Economy Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Draft Education Transport Policy
The committee accepted the report and noted the observations. It asked the Cabinet to pay particular attention to the Empty Seats Scheme. It recommended that the Cabinet Member for Education consider basing faith school transport on parishes rather than distance, and look at reducing the forms parents of pupils with additional learning needs must complete.
The Cabinet. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.
New Education Transport Policy from September 2027
The Cabinet decided to adopt a new Education Transport Policy to take effect on 1 September 2027. It delegated authority to the Cabinet Member for Education, with the Head of Education, to keep the policy under review and make operational and editorial changes. Changes that need consultation must go back to Cabinet.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
