The committee resolved to carry out a site visit to see the development's effect on neighbours' privacy and its scale in context.

Members deferred the decision so that they could hold further discussions with the applicant. A proposal to approve, with a condition for opaque glass in one window, was defeated in a vote, and a proposal to refuse was not seconded. The talks are to cover the level of activity on the site, a firm boundary, and measures to reduce disturbance and loss of privacy for neighbours.

The committee refused the application, against the officers' recommendation. The reason given is that it conflicts with policy PCYFF 3 (design and place shaping), because it would harm neighbours' living conditions: the windows in the gable would overlook neighbouring properties and have an intrusive impact.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
