Celtic Freeport agreement and business rate relief scheme
Cabinet authorised the Council to enter the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Appendix 1, which sets out how the partners will work together. It approved the Celtic Freeport business rate relief scheme, effective from 26 November 2024 until 31 March 2034. It also gave officers delegated authority, meaning they can act without a further meeting, to take the steps needed to carry out the MoU.
Celtic Freeport Joint Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Memorandum of Understanding for the Celtic Freeport
The committee noted the content of the Memorandum of Understanding and its impact on the Public Funds Committee.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
