RESOLVED (a) The Council does not exercise its discretion in respect of: (i) Extending payment for working age claimants who find work, the effect of which is that the prescribed period of four weeks will apply. (ii) Backdating of claims beyond the three-month period, the effect of which is that backdating will be limited to a maximum of up to three months for all claimants. Council Tax Reduction Scheme for 2025-26
Council adopted the Council Tax Reduction Scheme for 2025-26. It chose not to extend the four-week payment period for people who find work, and it limited backdating of claims to three months. It agreed to disregard war widows' and war disablement pensions as income, and to improve how decisions are notified.
