Redevelopment of former Wilko building, 2-6 Old Bridge, Haverfordwest
Cabinet noted the plan to request £1 million from the Town Centre Loan Fund, with the decision on the award delegated to the Assistant Chief Executive and Director of Place on the recommendation of the Town Regeneration and Grants Board. If the loan is not available, a paper will return to Cabinet with another funding source. Subject to the loan, Cabinet agreed to raise the capital programme allocation from £656,000 to £1.656 million over two years, to appoint T Richard Jones through a direct award under the South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework for Stage 1 design work only, and to delegate the appointment of the contractor for Stage 2 construction to the Assistant Chief Executive and Director of Place.

2-6 Old Bridge Redevelopment and Lease Proposal
Cabinet approved letting Unit 1 to a major high street retailer, through an Agreement for Lease (a binding promise to lease) and then a lease. It delegated to the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Place the power to agree the final terms. It agreed that the total project cost be funded from any one of the scenarios in Appendix C, updated the capital programme, and noted that every effort is being made to find external funding. It authorised tenders for the building works, to be invited and assessed by a mini-competition under the South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework (a list of pre-approved builders), and delegated power to award the contract if the total project cost is not exceeded.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
