Grass cutting and weed control task group report
The Committee agreed ten points and was reassured that the problems of last growing season will not be repeated. These include asking the Environment Department to explore options for weeds in play areas, and issuing a press release about a new chemical free moss killer for parks and play areas. Members will receive updates on the land ownership exercise, the weed spraying plan in the draft service level agreement, and data from mapping quad bike routes. The earlier system of notifying Members and the public about grass cuts and weed spraying will return. The Committee also agreed that communication between the Environment and Housing Departments and with the public should be better. A further update on progress will come to the September meeting.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
